And from roasting to packaging and then on to shipping, up to the point where the bags are displayed on grocery shelves for you to buy, bring home and enjoy, it roughly takes another month or so.

 

And that’s just the physical aspect of it.

Poor coffee farmers along with their respective families struggling to produce the best quality coffee beans spend back-breaking work on their high-altitude farms and sacrifice a great deal of comfort just to grow premium grade coffee…

 

…Only to have all this hard work short-changed by big multi-national companies who hold a monopoly on the coffee industry and decide on how much – or rather how little – they want to pay for these poor farmers’ produce.

 

Having little or no choice, the farmers are forced to sell months of dedicated work for amounts barely enough to get them through another cycle of crops, much less survive.

 

And they can’t scrimp on quality either because if they do, even that little amount the corporate monsters decide to pay them will disappear.

 

So they carry on.

 

Because to them, coffee equals life – literally.
